Stefano De Ponti, after all your efforts in
inaugurating and launching the factory,
what are the objectives for Dallara in the
USA in 2013?
«
We have had a very good start to 2013.
We have a balanced company structure in
place in terms of personnel, equipment
and customer-service organisation. Our
objective now is to establish a closer
relationship with the IZOD IndyCar teams,
while working together with the
IndyLights management team in order to
get the series back on track. Here in
Indianapolis we are trying to follow the
Dallara Italian business-model, seeking
out new collaborations not necessarily
within the motorsports environment, but
in the wider motoring and engineering
fields, where our skills could help
contribute to other companies’ technical
innovations. We are also working towards
bringing the simulator over to the USA in
2014.
During the winter the IZOD IndyCar teams
were able to benefit from numerous
sessions on the simulator. The drivers
who were able to take up this opportunity
profited greatly from it, especially those
who race for teams that are unfamiliar
with the new technology. The teams all
agreed that the simulator is an extremely
useful tool, not just for improving the
drivers' styles but also for setting up the
cars, which is a great help for the
engineers. The tests carried out on the
track after the sessions on the simulator
served to confirm the data and underline
the benefit».
