38 Great Britain stays strong The BRDC British F3 championship is experiencing its fourth season which, as well as the previous one, has an international flavour. There are 11 different nationalities represented on the grids of the series, which features Tatuus MSV F3‐016 racecars with 2‐ litre 230‐horsepower Cosworth engines and Pirelli tires. Thanks to a great compromise between cost, performance and reliability the current package was retained by promoter MotorSport Vision after a positive 3‐year stint. The 2019 season entered its second half with the running of the traditional round out of the UK borders at Spa‐Francorchamps. Leading the championship is Clement Novalak, who collected 349 points and scored two wins. The Carlin driver turned consistency into his best weapon, scoring points in all the races held so far. Despite his four wins, more than anybody else, his contender Johnathan Hoggard, running for Fortec, is trailing the leader with 294 points, while Ayrton Simmons is becoming the odd man out. The Anglo‐Spaniard starred in Belgium and won race 3. He has now 276 points. In race 3 at Snetterton, Swedish Hampus Ericsson, Marcus's younger brother, managed to celebrate a win, while Kaylen Frederick, Benjamin Pedersen, Lucas Petersson, Joshua Mason and Argentinean Nicolas Varrone, the latest new‐enty, have sealed the opportunities provided to them by the fully‐reversed grid in race 2. Not forgetting that, for the second race of each weekend, additional points are given according to the positions recovered by each competitor. Simmons was the best scorer with a fantastic +12 at Silverstone to finish fifth at the checkered flag. The reverse grid rules are good for the show too! by Jacopo Rubino
