45 Jagger Jones, the grandson of American legend Parnelli Jones and son of PJ Jones, was among the most impressive rookies. The 20‐year‐old from Scottsdale had an unconventional career, putting himself on the map in ARCA stock‐car racing before making a surprising jump to single‐seaters this season. He secured one win at Barber Motorsports Park, five podiums, and a provisional fourth‐place in points. Making their series debut, 14‐year‐old American‐New Zealander Nikita Johnson and Australian Lochie Hughes came in late in the season and were fast, already eyeing a positive 2023. Alex Quinn came for only one event and dominated all three races at the Indianapolis street circuit. Lining up following a deal between the Velocity team and its historical partner Arden, Quinn contested only the three heats of round 3. After losing pole to Jones by only 0.065s, got the nod on the second‐generation racer, winning all three heats and profiting from contact between Jones and D'Orlando in race 2.
