Zhang Z.D. (XPower Racing, MG 6) progressively lost contact. Behind them, Xie successfully defended his third position from André Couto and Huang, while Zhang Zhen Dong cruised in sixth position with his MG. RACE 2 – DISASTER HITS MACPRO RACING At the start of Race 2, Edward Chen started well from pole, while Xie hit Kenneth Look’s car that spun off. Xie’s Honda retired with broken front suspension, while his teammates Couto and Lloyd overtook Chen, moving into first and second. In the meantime, Engstler who had started from eighth on the reversed grid passed Zhang and Chen, advancing to third. During the third lap he began fighting with Lloyd for second position when Couto spun in front of them and Lloyd couldn’t avoid crashing into his teammate’s car. Engstler was lucky to avoid being caught up in the collision and found himself in the lead, well ahead of Huang and Chen. Positions didn’t change, so Engstler won from Huang and Chen, while the MG cars of Zhang and Rodolfo Ávila were classified fourth and fifth. However, after the race Chen was penalised for jumping the start and this elevated the MG drivers to third and fourth.
