SUPER TAIKYU The Modulo Racing Dome team scored a second consecutive victory in the TCR class of the Super Taikyu series and so relaunched their campaign in the title fight. The reigning champions Tadao Uematsu, Shinji Nakano, Mitsuhiro Endo and Hiroki Otsu drove their Honda Civic to a brilliant win in the 5- hour race at Twin Ring Motegi. They had qualified in fourth position, behind three Audi cars (Team Mars, Waimarama Kizuna Racing and Audi Driving Exp. Japan), but during the race they emerged ahead of the field. They set a fast pace and completed 131 laps, beating by 82 seconds the Waimarama Kizuna Racing Audi RS 3 LMS of Robert Hori, Katsumasa Chiyo, Lee Jungwoo and ‘Kizuna’. The podium was completed by another Audi, the #33 entered by Audi Japan for Masaki Secondconsecutivevictory forModuloRacingDome before Motegi was classified in ninth position, with a gap of 33 laps. This meant that they slipped down to third position in the TCR classification, on equal points with the second-classified Modulo Racing Dome. The standings are now led by the Adenau Racingline Performance Volkswagen Golf GTI shared by Philip Devesa, Shogo Mitsuyama and Jake Parsons. They finished the Motegi 5 Hours in fifth position and now have a slim 0.5-point margin over the Modulo Racing Dome Honda and the Team DreamDrive Audi. The final round of the Super Taikyu will take place on 27th/29th September at Okayama International Circuit, where six teams will still be in contention to clinch the title as they are all covered by just 14 points.
