15 Lloyd’s 2:14.959 and Cheah’s 2:14.962. On his first outing in the Hyundai Veloster, Files qualified fourth (2:15.519) ahead of Gilbert Ang (2:15.865). At the start, Engstler sprinted into the lead and bid the rest of the field farewell after a couple of laps. Behind him Lloyd, Cheah and Files delivered a tough battle, making contact several times. Files took second from Lloyd during the first lap, but then they clashed again on lap 4 and Files dropped to fifth, while Lloyd was able to pull away from Cheah and Gilbert Ang who kept on fighting for third until the end of the race. Eventually, Cheah beat his fellow countryman by six tenths, while Files, his car damaged after the collision, lost two more places to finish seventh. After the race, Files protested against Lloyd who protested against Cheah and this resulted in 30-second suspended penalties for both Lloyd and Cheah
