The 15-year-old Maxson performed like a veteran and claimed victories in both the series’ opening races at the wheel of his Hyundai Veloster N. His teammate Nikko Reger underlined the team's success as he twice finished in second position, while the FCP Euro duo of Nate Vincent and reigning champion Michael Hurczyn had to settle for third and fourth in both races. RACE 1 – GONZÁLEZ AND BLOCK CLASH AFTER THE START Maxson made a better start than pole sitter Reger and took the lead, while Victor González’s Honda Civic and Roy Block’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta made contact during the opening lap and spun. Block retired with broken suspension, while González pitted twice for repairs and to change the rear left wheel; he then rejoined although his car was visibly unbalanced. The safety car was deployed on laps 4 and 5, to recover a TCA class car that had stopped on the track; when racing resumed, Reger tried to put pressure on Maxson. However, he never got close enough to attempt an overtaking move, and in the second half of the race Maxson was able to create a small gap, while the Volkswagen Golf cars of Vincent and Hurczyn cruised in third and fourth positions a few seconds behind. RACE 2 – MAXSON AND REGER ENCORE THEIR 1-2 FINISH Starting from the first row of the grid, Maxson and Reger led the field for the entire race with their Hyundai Veloster N cars. Vincent tried to overtake the two Hyundai cars after the start, but pole sitter Maxson and Reger kept him at bay. On the second lap, Hurczyn overtook his teammate Vincent for P3. He rejected a counterattack from Vincent and tried to stay in contact
