22 INTERVIEW Followingin Michelisz’sfootsteps YOUNG GUN ATTILA TASSI FEELS READY TO AIM FOR HIS MENTOR’S CROWN WTCR’s young gun, Attila Tassi hopes that his second season in the FIA World Touring Car Cup will be much luckier than his maiden year. He doesn’t want to leave anything to chance; instead, he wants to push to the limit and try to learn from his new team Münnich Motorsport as much as possible. Being the youngest rookie in an extremely strong field last year wasn’t easy, but the Hungarian proved he was ready to take his place in the World Cup. The TCR International Series and TCR Europe proved to have been excellent schools for him to reach the highest level. In 2018, Tassi scored a double victory in TCR Europe to finish the season as runner-up and he was only 19 years old when was named a member of the Honda team. Now, at 21, he’s ready to make his dream come true: following the steps of his former mentor, Norbert Michelisz, and become the champion. Last year marked your WTCR debut, but unfortunately the start of the new season has been postponed to September.
