As for the Nürburgring-Monza weekend, I will begin in Germany with WTCR and then will travel to Monza on Friday. My father joined the team last year and he will help me as much as possible. Team principal Jean-Michel Baert will help as well, and Pascal Henderick, who normally takes care of the Fun Cup, will also give a hand.” Rizzo will attend the WTCR events on those weekends: “I’m always in the background for the other programmes, trying to ensure all the targets are achieved, I will probably be on site at one or two events, if possible. This year we are also involved in the FIA European Rally Championship with Craig Breen in a Hyundai R5. Luckily I have trusted collaborators and we are all used to updating ourselves daily with short, efficient and fast meetings.” BRC managed to have one test for both WTCR and TCR Europe before the lockdown, then the team tested again in Barcelona at the beginning of July. “For WTCR it was the first contact with the Goodyear tyres and with the new common ECU; for TCR Europe it was the first outing as a team with both drivers. We worked well and everything went as planned. Regarding further tests for WTCR, the situation is trickier. We still focus to catch up with all the partners and sponsors to confirm the support post COVID- 19; even though something has been done in these months, WTCR still involves very high costs. To do it at the level we showed in 2018 or 2019, we need a lot of money. Our first target is to confirm the resources to properly manage the campaign, then after that we will look at the most efficient way to make the tests.”
