Kwok (M&S Racing, Honda Civic Typer R FK7) As engine overheating forced Gary Kwok to pit in both races, it was Cirone who twice ended as runner up, beating Ron Tomlinson in Race 1 for an all-Audi podium and finishing ahead of Kwok in Race 2. The next and final event of CTCC will be at Calabogie on 29th/30th August. Pfaff Motorsports’ 17-year old rookie Zachary Vanier is making his mark on the Canadian Touring Car Championship. After claiming a well- deserved maiden win on his debut in the series at Bowmanville, Vanier drove his Audi RS 3 LMS to a dominant double victory in the second event of the season at Shannonville. Those results also mean that he has taken the lead in the standings ahead of the reigning champion Gary Kwok and the consistent Marco Cirone. Kwok opened the season with a victory in Bowmanville’s Race 1, when he was able to make up from a poor start, joined a four-way battle with Cirone, Vanier and Bob Attrell and overtook them all, winning from Attrell and Cirone. Vanier took his revenge in Race 2, claiming his maiden win at the end of a thrilling nose-to-tail battle with Gary Kwok and Bob Attrell who finished second and third respectively. At Shannonville, in the second race meeting of the season, Vanier was in a league of his own. In both races he started from pole position and was soon able to pull away from the rest of the field, building a huge gap. ThemarkofZacharyVanier
