Buri (Engstler Motorsport, Hyundai i30 N) Dominik Fugel was the third title contender, but despite claiming two authoritative victories in the second races at Lausitzring (left) and Oschersleben, he ranked third in the final standings, three points behind Proczyk. The participation of guest stars Tiago Monteiro and Luca Engstler in the Oscherlsben finale was irrelevant. Monteiro, who had joined Team Honda Sachsen, finished second in Race 1 (bottom) but then crashed at the start of Race 2. As for Engstler, he didn’t finish any of the races in his Hyundai.
