16 AUSTRALIA The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce cars dominated the opening event of TCR Australia at Symmons Plains. Lee Holdsworth, Jordan Cox and Jay Hanson finished 1-2-3 in Race 1 (left); however, Hanson was later dropped by a penalty for a contact with Mostert and so Josh Buchan inherited third place. Cox (above) won both of Sunday’s races, from Holdsworth in Race 2 and Mostert in Race 3, emerging as the first points leader. Both the Alfa Romeo drivers then experienced a series of misfortunes at Phillip Island. Holdsworth was able to finish third in Race 1, but dropped to third in the standings, 25 points behind Mostert. After a disappointing qualifying, Cox retired from Race 2 after colliding with Buchan and couldn’t even start Race 3.
