At the wheel of his Hyundai i30 N run by Aggressive Team Italia, Guastamacchia won Mugello’s Race 1 and Imola’s Race 2 (bottom), building a leading margin of 16 points over Carlotta Fedeli who is currently on top of the DSG class with her RC Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS. The TCR field has grown to 18 cars and competition is fierce, as the series is also attracting foreign drivers for the occasional appearance like Volcano Motorsports’ Evgenii Leonov who won the second race at Mugello in his CUPRA Leon Competición. Other drivers who have shown their potential are the 16-year-old Marco Butti (Next Motorsport, Hyundai i30 N) who claimed his maiden win in the first race at Imola, Alessio Aiello (MM Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R) and BF Motorsport’s teammates Alberto Rodio and Sandro Pelatti, both at the wheel of Audi cars. The Baltic Touring Car Championship kicked off in Estonia at the Riga Bikernieki racetrack, where local driver Mikk Maaten and Latvia’s Valters Zviedris shared the honours in the TCR class. Maaten won the first race in his Krauman Motors Volkswagen Golf GTI, beating Zviedris’ LV Racing Audi RS 3 LMS by seven seconds. They swapped positions in Race 2, that was won by Zviedris (left) with a slim margin of nine tenths.
