Azcona took a dominant victory in Race 1 (bottom left) at the wheel of his Volcano Motorsport CUPRA Leon Competición, beating the Comtoyou Racing Audi RS 3 LMS of Nicolas Baert to the chequered flag by 3.370 seconds. The reigning champion Bennani gave the Hyundai Elantra N its first win in a sprint race when the Sébastien Loeb Racing driver held off a determined challenge from Azcona to record a lights-to-flag victory in Race 2 (above). Azcona took the early lead in the standings, 22 points clear of Bennani with Zengő Motorsport’s Dániel Nagy two further points adrift. The next event of TCR Europe will be at Le Castellet on 28/30 May.
