23 The TCR Denmark race meetings at Copenhagen and Jyllandsringen completely reshuffled the standings. Jan Magnussen, who had dominated the first two events of the season by winning five races from six and building a healthy leadership, made a very costly mistake during the first of the three races on the streets of Copenhagen’s Bellahøj Park. The LM Racing driver crashed into the wall and damaged his CUPRA so severely that he was sidelined for the Sunday races. On top of this, he was forced to skip the following event at Jyllandsringen as it clashed with the Le Mans 24 Hours. His rivals seized the opportunity to reopen the title fight. The reigning champion Kasper H. Jensen scored a double victory at Copenhagen (above) as did Magnussen’s teammate Nicolai Sylvest at Jyllandsringen (on top), while Casper Elgaard (left) was victorious in both events’ second races. These results meant that Jensen is the new series leader, three points ahead of Elgaard, while Sylvest moved into third with a gap of 30 points.
