28 GERMANY MARTIN ANDERSEN FINISHES SECOND BEHIND HIS TEAMMATE IN BOTH RACES ATTHE LAUSITZRING In ADAC TCR Germany’s third event at the Lausitzring, teammates Luca Engstler and Martin Andersen finished first and second in both races. Engstler made good use of the pole to lead the first race ahead of Jonas Karklys and his own teammates Andersen and Nico Gruber. After making several attempts, Andersen finally passed Karklys for second, with their cars making contact into Turn 1. In the meantime, Engstler had built a 1.2-second gap, but that was wiped out when the safety car was deployed after René Kircher had parked his car alongside the track with a smoking engine. Racing resumed for a final lap, but there were no changes to the top-six places, with Engstler winning ahead of Andersen, Karklys, Gruber, Marcel Fugel and Eric Scalvini. In Race 2, Engstler made a great start from second on the grid and led fromAndersen who sat on pole, Dominik Fugel, Gruber and Marcel Fugel. After a safety car intervention caused by an incident that eliminated Günter Benninger, Szymon Ładniak and Patrick Sing, the race became processional. Engstler and Andersen (above) pulled away, while Dominik Fugel (below) defended third from Gruber, who was in turn kept under pressure from Marcel Fugel. Eric Scalvini too joined the battle but despite his efforts he did not find a gap to pass Marcel Fugel; instead, he lost sixth to Robin Jahr. Round 5 – Saturday 11 September, Lausitzring 1. L.
