30 RUSSIA Kirill andhisLady…Luck THEREIGNINGCHAMPIONCONVERTSDRAW-PRESENTEDPOLE POSITIONS INTOACOUPLEOF CRUCIALVICTORIES The latest six races of the TCR Russia championship have produced five different winners, with only Kirill Ladygin able to win twice, courtesy of the draw that determines the reversed grid for Race 2 and which offered him the opportunity to start from pole position at Igora Drive (top right) and Kazan Ring. Opportunities that the reigning champion did not waste. Ladygin looks perfectly focused on defending the champion’s crown. He minimizes risks, takes the most out of the erratic performance of his LADA Vesta Sport and capitalizes on the fact that his rivals steal points from each other. Not surprisingly, the pack of Ladygin’s pursuers is led by Dmitry Bragin (right) – four times the TCR Russia champion between 2016 and 2019 – whose consistency granted him the second place in the standings, 44 points behind the leader.
