31 Ivan Lukashevich, the only title contender who has not won a race in the season so far, is placed third, two points from Bragin and one ahead of the impressive 20-year-old rookie Zakhar Slutskiy who claimed his maiden victory in Kazan’s Race 1. Without a 10-second penalty for a grid infringement that demoted him from second to sixth in the second race, Slutskiy (above) would now be the first runner up. Still in contention are Andrej Maslennikov and Pavel Kalmanovich, who shared race victories at the Moscow Raceway; they are placed fifth and sixth, with gaps of 54 and 55 points respectively. Kalmanovich (below) too has lost precious points when he was excluded from Kazan’s Race 1 for using a non-homologated seat. Therefore, with two events left at Fort Grozniy and Sochi, and 106 points at stake, Ladygin’s position is far from being safe, although he can count on the support of his teammate Mikhail Mityaev (top left).
