TCR World and life
13 With only two events left in the 2021 WTCR season, the battle for the title heated up after the races at Most and Pau-Arnos. Cyan Racing’s Yann Ehrlacher keeps on collecting points and leading the standings. The young Frenchman is showing a stubborn determination to defend his title and never misses an opportunity to increase his tally, as witnessed in the second race at Pau-Arnos when his Lynk & Co 03 sprinted to the finish line to snatch fifth position from Norbert Michelisz’s Hyundai Elantra N by 73 thousandths of a second (left). That race was won by Jean-Karl Vernay (above and right) who reaffirmed his role as Ehrlacher’s main competitor. Team Engstler’s French driver made a great start, pipping the pole sitter Yvan Muller and claiming his second victory of the season. Vernay is now 16 points behind Ehrlacher in the standings.
