22 DENMARK KasperH.Jensen retainsthetitle Kasper H. Jensen successfully defended his TCR Denmark title, securing the crown with a third place in the first race of the season finale at Padborg Park (left). At the wheel of his Massive Motorsport Honda Civic Type R, Jensen scored in each of the championship’s 21 races and claimed four victories, including a crucial win in Race 3 on the Aarhus street circuit (above). He also finished the season on a high with another win in the very last race at Padborg Park. Former Danish Formula Ford champion Michael Markussen created a surprise by finishing as runner-up in the Peugeot 308 run by his own team. After having stepped onto the podium eight times, he rounded off his brilliant season with a maiden victory in the second race of Padborg Park’s final event (centre right). Arguably, Jan Magnussen was considered by many the favourite in the title fight. The former F1 racer confirmed his role in the early part of the season, winning five of the first six races, but then encountered a costly mistake when he crashed his LM Racing CUPRA Leon Competición in Copenhagen’s Race 1. Sidelined for the whole weekend, Magnussen then missed the following event thanks to a clash with the Le Mans 24 Hours and found himself with the need to recover. He tried his best and won three more races, one in each of the last events at Aarhus, Jyllandsrigen (top right) and Padborg Park but eventually had to settle for third behind Markussen and ahead of his own teammate Nicolai Sylvest. At the age of 57, veteran Michael Carlsen (bottom right) proved he’s still competitive, 20 years after twice becoming Danish Touring Car champion. After claiming one race win at Jyllandsringen in his Carlsen Motorsport Peugeot 308, he finished fifth overall in the championship and was the winner of the Trophy for independent drivers.
