Bragin (TAIF Motorsport, Audi RS 3 LMS); 2. K. Ladygin (LADA Sport Rosneft, LADA Vesta Sport); 3. E. Orudzhev (Lukoil Racing Team, Audi RS 3 LMS) The battle for the 2021 TCR Russia title is going down to the wire and will be decided in the season finale at Sochi. In the penultimate event at Fort Grozniy, Dmitry Bragin (right) claimed his second victory of the current season at the wheel of his TAIF Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS and closed the gap in the standings from LADA Sport Rosneft’s reigning champion Kirill Ladygin. Bragin, who has already clinched the TCR Russia title four times, from 2016 to 2019, is now 31 points behind Ladygin, with 53 available in the last event. A situation that might even improve in favour of Bragin, following the appeal lodged by TAIF Motorsport against Ladygin who was deemed to have infringed the track limits too many times during Fort Grozny’s second race in which he finished behind Bragin. The first race in Fort Grozniy marked the maiden win for Egor Orudzhev and his LUKOIL Racing Team’s Audi (above). Orudzhev had been classified second in the race behind the Carville Racing Hyundai i30 N of Zakhar Slutskiy (right) but inherited the victory when Slutskiy was handed a 30-second time penalty for a jump start.
