33 SPAIN Michelle Halder and Alba Cano delivered a ladies 1-2 finish in the TCR Spain third race at Valencia (left). Something never seen before in TCR competition. Halder started from pole and rejected an attempt from Fernando Navarrete; they made contact and Mike Halder moved into second. The German driver then kept the field behind while his sister created a gap. Mike Halder and Navarrete swapped places a few times, while Alejandro Cutillas followed in fourth position. Navarrete then lost one lap in the pits with a technical issue and Mike Halder too was forced to make a brief pit stop, dropping from second to fifth. On the last lap, Cano closed the gap to Michelle Halder but couldn’t try an overtaking move, while Cutillas was classified third. In the first race, Mike Halder took his eighth victory of the season, starting from pole and leading all the way to the chequered flag (below). In a final sprint, Michelle Halder was able to beat Navarrete and Cutillas, so securing second place. However, she and Navarrete received penalties for track limit infringements, dropping to third and fourth behind Cutillas. Cutillas claimed an amazing victory in Race 2 (centre left), overtaking Mike Halder into the last turn and scoring his and Peugeot’s maiden win in the championship. Michelle Halder started better than Cutillas who sat on pole and took the lead; the young Spaniard repassed her but made a mistake and lost the lead to Mike Halder. In the final stages, Cutillas closed the gap and on the last lap, as Halder was in trouble with a flat front tyre, Cutillas passed him in the final turn. Navarrete completed the podium ahead of Michelle Halder and Cano. Mike Halder has retained a solid 117- point lead over Cutillas with only one event left, at Barcelona on November 13/14.
