17 Shioya, who had rejoined the series for the previous event after completing cancer therapy, scored his first victory in the Saturday race (left) capitalising on his competitors’ misfortunes. 'Hirobon' led from the start ahead of Anna Inotsume, but on lap 7 he was given a drive-through for jumping the start and rejoined in 8th position. Inotsume inherited the lead and looked set to claim her maiden win, but she made a mistake during the final lap, opening the door to Shioya who seized the opportunity to pass her and take the victory.
