7 With Ehrlacher in control, there was a lively battle for the other podium positions in the standings. After the penalty that stripped him of third place in Sochi’s Race 1, Frédéric Vervisch managed to finish second in Race 2 (below) and so ended the season as the runner-up at the wheel of Comtoyou Racing’s new Audi RS 3 LMS. Second place in the opening race at Sochi put Jean-Karl Vernay (left) on the way to complete the championship podium in third position with his Engstler Motorsport Hyundai Elantra N. Ehrlacher’s teammates Yvan Muller and Santiago Urrutia provided the icing on the cake for Lynk & Co, as they were classified fourth and fifth in the final standings, with the young Uruguayan scoring an authoritative win in the first race at Adria (above).
