D'Orlando lancia la sfida
Anche se con una vittoria su tre gare disputate Kiko Porto esce dal weekend USF2000 di Mid-Ohio con la leadership del campionato, il brasiliano ha trovato sul saliscendi di Lexington un avversario degno di preoccupazione in Michael D'Orlando. Nella prima gara, il pilota d'origine italiana ha approfittato di una caution per passare Porto ed involarsi verso la vittoria, mentre al terzo posto è emerso nuovamente Simon Sikes.
Porto è riuscito a mantenere la prima posizione (dopo aver segnato tre pole in qualifica) nella seconda corsa, ma ha dovuto mantenere alta la concentrazione per la vicinanza di D'Orlando che si è piazzato secondo a 4 decimi, mentre Sikes ha conquistato un altro podio, replicato poi con un secondo posto in gara 3.
Anche nella manche finale il newyorkese del team Cape ha beffato Porto in occasione di un re-start, e la ripartenze successive sono costate ancora più posizioni all'alfiere DeForce. Oltre a Sykes sono passati infatti Yuven Sundaramoorthy, che non ha avuto un weekend facile, e Matt Round-Garrido.
