36 USF2000 The Dane-king Dane Christian Rasmussen took the 2020 USF2000 title with a dominant performance to beat second‐generation racer Eduardo Barrichello and Reece Gold, while rookies Christian Brooks and Kiko Porto ended the season on a high note by Marco Cortesi L Like every business around the globe, the Road to Indy program had to endure difficult times this season due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which led to unprecedented logistic challenges and altered schedules including a late start in July and many races held mid‐week. Despite the tough conditions, the USF2000 championship was again a success, with around 20 entries lining‐up in each race and a highly competitive general level. The series eventually crowned its champion, and it was an early one. Dane Christian Rasmussen quickly emerged as a favourite with six wins, five pole and six fastest laps in the first six races of the season. The 20‐year‐old, fielded by former IndyCar racer Jay Howard, suffered some setbacks in the middle part of the year, but quickly rebounded with four more wins between Mid‐Ohio and New Jersey to seal the deal with one round to go. Helping Rasmussen was the fact that his domination was not complemented by a single rival, but by two contenders who pretty much equally shared the remaining points on the table. Christian Rasmussen
