It's Formula SAE Italy time, an event in
which Dallara is involved as main
sponsor: which are the reasons why the
company believes so much in this show?
There are several reasons, definitely the most
important is to enable the students to
compete each other. To show off their
innovative ideas and have the chance to
make mistakes, corrected by a panel of
international-renowned judges. In this event
you can see the real value of competition and
the pleasure of winning is similar to the
pleasure of learning from each other. There
are no tricks, only the teams with the most
brilliant ideas and best organized can win».
Have there been competitors-students
that then found their way to the
company? Is there any representative
story?
«Formula SAE for us is a great instrument to
find talents. Currently, we have twenty
people coming from Formula SAE and the
same number of people have passed from
here. Having taken part to Formula SAE is
becoming not only a necessary condition to
join Dallara, but also to join motorsport in
general. Other manufacturers in this business
are following the same directions and the
results are very clear».
Formula SAE Italy provides to Dallara the
chance to interact with its territory?
What are the local partners?
«This event is a sensational instrument to
promote our territory. Just think that Varano
de' Melegari has a population of 2700 people,
and during the Formula SAE event 2000
engineers come from all over the world. Many
actors are involved in it, and the major one is
the Riccardo Paletti Circuit where all the
activities are carried-on. We must not forget
the local association that always provide their
support. We work together to turn Varano into
the racing capital of the world for 4 days!».
Can you provide us some data on the
2014 edition? How many participants are
expected, which universities will be
involved and from how many countries?
What is the global extension of this
event?
«As we said before, there will be more than
2000 students coming from 85 universities
around the globe. Germany, India, France,
Russia, Israel, Croatia, Egypt... it will be a
