Toro Rosso offre una seconda chance a Bourdais

Sebastien Bourdais riceverà dalla Toro Rosso una seconda chanche. Il tre volte campione della Champ Car è nelle grazie di Gerhard Berger e, secondo quanto si dice in USA, rimane in corsa per il mondiale F.1 2007 nonostante egli sostenga che intende non rompere il contratto con Newman-Haas. Alla rivista tedesca Auto Motor und Sport Berger ha sottolineato che Bourdais rimarrà sotto osservazione ed ha elogiato la serietà con la quale ha svolto il test di Jerez. Sia Vitantonio Liuzzi sia Scott Speed, i piloti Toro Rosso 2006, avevano dichiarato che il francese non li aveva particolarmente stupiti, anzi. Berger ha inoltre affermato che: "Ora non ci resta che sapere come Bourdais possa andare più veloce di quanto mostrato. Un secondo test ci fornirà la risposta"

Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais will be given another chance to shine at the wheel of a Toro Rosso. That is the promise of Gerhard Berger, who alongside Red Bull magnate Dietrich Mateschitz co-owns the Faenza based grand prix team. Bourdais, 27, tested a Toro Rosso late last year but insists that he will honour his contract for 2007 with Champ Car team Newman-Haas. Indeed, Berger counts Bourdais among the contenders for a ride next year, and told Auto Motor und Sport that the Frenchman will "continue to be observed" by Toro Rosso. After criticising Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed in the same interview with the German magazine, former grand prix winner Berger then applauded Bourdais for the "seriousness" with which he approaches his job. "The only question that remains now is how much quicker he can go. A second test will give us the answer," Berger said.
