La situazione del campionato inglese 2009

Quattordici gare, sette appuntamenti, sei vincitori diversi. La situazione nel campionato inglese di F.Renault è decisamente fluida con Oli Webb che comanda la classifica generale con 324 punti seguito da Dean Smith con 318, Dean Stoneman con 308, James Calado con 291 poi quinto e più staccato Jesse Krohn a quota 214.

Webb, 18 anni di Knutsford, del team Fortec, lo scorso anno si era piazzato 8° e nel 2007 aveva anche corso nella F.BMW britannica terminando quella stagione al 15° posto. Webb vanta due vittorie e una serie infinita di piazzamenti (mai un ritiro) che gli hanno permesso di fare bottino.

Smith è un pilota esperto; ha 21 anni, arriva da Wolverampthon, nel 2005 ha vinto la F.BMW inglese dopo essersi piazzato 3° nel 2004. E' salito in F.Renault nazionale nel 2006 giungendo 9° mentre nel 2007 si è piazzato 2° assoluto. Lo scorso anno ha partecipato alla Eurocup di F.Renault risultando 17° ed ha preso parte anche alle gare finali della F.3 britannica. Questa stagione ha saltato la prima tappa della F.Renault inglese, nella quale vi si è rituffato dopo la chiamata giunta dal team Manor. Fino ad ora ha raccolto quattro vittorie diversi piazzamenti e nessun ritiro.

Sempre a punti anche Dean Stoneman del team Alpine, con nel palmares 2009 una sola vittoria. 18 anni, di Southampton, nel 2008 è risultato 4°nel campionato mentre nel 2007 ha partecipato alla F.Renault BARC. James Calado è quello che ha raccolto il maggior numero di primi posti, ben cinque, ma ha anche collezionato tre ritiri. Settimo nel 2008, Calado è del team Fortec, ha 19 anni e arriva da Cropthorne.
