Busch, Nashville: Edwards ingrana la quarta

Quarta vittoria stagionale Busch per Carl Edwards, ancora una volta trionfatore sul cemento a Nashville. Il leader di campionato ha superato Clint Bowyer a 32 giri dal termine, andando a conquistare l'ambita chitarra dipinta che spetta al vincitore. Vista la lontananza, diversi piloti hanno deciso di concentrarsi sulla Nextel Cup a Pocono, senza subire lo stress di continue trasferte aeree: i risultati non sono stati sempre dei migliori, in particolare per Kevin Hamlin (sostituto di Montoya), Timothy Peters (Harvick), Kertus Davis (Labonte) e Richard Johns (Gilliland). In terza posizione ha chiuso Jason Leffler su Toyota, davanti a Scott Wimmer, Regan Smith ed al bravissimo Jason Keller. Da segnalare il dodicesimo posto del pole-sitter Steve Wallace, andato a perdere progressivamente terreno.

Nel frattempo, sono continuate le trattative per trovare il nuovo sponsor di titolo della serie, con la catena di ristoranti Subway attualmente favorita.
