Brands Hatch, gara 1: Muller tiene la prima piazza

È una doppietta quella portata a casa dalla Chevrolet in gara 1 sul circuito britannico di Brands Hatch. Partite dalla prima fila, le due Cruze di Yvan Muller e Rob Huff hanno condotto la gara dall'inizio alla fine, protetti alle loro spalle da Alain Menu, che nell'ultimo giro ha strategicamente rallentato fino alla settima posizione, per poter partire in prima fila in gara 2. Sul podio, quindi, trova spazio un velocissimo Colin Turkington, che con la BMW 320si privata del team Ebay Motors riesce a stare davanti alle Seat di Gabriele Tarquini e Tom Coronel, dopo aver messo in pratica diversi spettacolari sorpassi.

Il britannico riesce inoltre ad aggiudicarsi il trofeo riservato ai piloti Indipendenti. Altrettanto agguerrite anche le altre BMW, quelle ufficiali del team RBM affidate ad Augusto Farfus e Andy Priaulx, con quest'ultimo che ha evitato abilmente di superare la Chevrolet di Alain Menu sul filo del traguardo per ottenere la pole position in gara 2.
