USF2000 a Indy stradale
Sundaramoorthy è il match winner

Yuven Sundaramoorthy è sempre più leader della USF2000 2021. Il pilota di origini indiane, trapiantato a Oconomowoc Wisconsin, si è imposto in due gare su tre a Indianapolis, arrivando a podio nella terza e aprendo un discreto gap in graduatoria.

In gara 1, Sundaramoorthy ha passato il poleman Christian Brooks al giro 11, ed è stato inseguito da un Michael D'Orlando in formissima, salito secondo dalla dodicesima piazza in qualifica. La seconda corsa ha visto Sundaramoorthy dominare dalla pole, mentre secondo ha terminato il compagno di colori in Pabst Josh Pierson seguito dal brasiliano Kiko Porto.

La terza gara, la numero 400 per la categoria, è stata molto più imprevedibile. Non per il vincitore, che è stato Porto, ma per il resto del podio. Il pilota di Recife, partito terzo, ha passato prima Sundaramoorthy e poi Brooks, che si era portato al comando. Dietro a Porto, Brooks ha preceduto sul traguardo il rimontante Michael D'Orlando, ma nessuno dei due è salito sul podio. Brooks è stato squalificato per un'irregolarità tecnica, mentre D'Orlando ha pagato due posizioni per un contatto. Pierson e Sundaramoorthy si sono presi seconda e terza piazz, e la squalifica è costata a Brooks la vetta in classifica.

Tra i rookie ha invece spiccato Spike Kohlbecker, diciannovenne del Cape Motorsports.
